60’s Philadelphia sensation Len Barry took the Soul Train home on November 5th, 2020 at 78 years of age. As lead vocalist with The Dovells his blue eyed soul passions could be heard and felt on 1963’s “You Can’t Sit Down” and the dance sensation “Bristol Stomp”, As a solo artist Len toured with Sam Cooke, James Brown and the UK Motown review in ‘65 as his hit “1,2,3” skyrocketed to sales of four million records. “Like A Baby”, another tune co-written by Barry had similar impact as his star ascended. Len was embraced in the UK and had the honor of performing at both The London Palladium as well as Royal Albert Hall. His career was somewhat short but his impact was very sweet, leaving us with some marvelous recordings and memories. Sleep Well Len.
